Carlos Tapia is a Relationship Manager in the Large Market Group for American Express, and manages 12 relationships of Fortune 1000 clients in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. His clients range from 500 million to 6 billion in annual sales, and is responsible in consulting these clients in how to earn greater incentives, maximize efficiency, and streamline their procure to pay processes. Prior to joining American Express, Carlos was a Corporate Banking Relationship Manager for the North Texas Commercial Banking team of BBVA Compass. In that role Carlos was responsible for driving growth and profitability through a variety of commercial lending products and ancillary services such as treasury management and merchant services. Carlos has won numerous awards and recognition throughout his career, with his greatest accomplishment being promoted to Vice President in 7 months while beginning his career as an entry level associate at Bank of America.
Carlos has also served in a variety of sales and leadership roles at several other financial institutions including Chase and Capital One. He contributes his success to a strong focus on both his internal and external network and leveraging those networks to find new ways to drive value to clients. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington where he obtained his undergraduate degree in International Business. Carlos has served as a leader in a variety non-profit organizations, and is currently active as a member of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, in Dallas and serves on various committees. He recently joined the Texas Diversity Council Advisory Board in Dallas . His wife, Joyce, is a systems engineer and both volunteer with the youth group ministry at their church.
Carlos is a fan of all sports, music, and movies. He loves to spend time with family when on vacation.
