Mr. Suarez has over thirty-seven years of business experience in the telecommunication industry 25 with AT&T and 12 while on sabbatical from AT&T and is presently responsible for managing the Installation and Maintenance of POTs, DSL, GPON, Broadband, DirecTV and internet services of all customers of AT&T in South Florida area (from West Palm Beach to Key West). Robert currently directs the operational work effort and is responsible for managing over 1100 employees that serve the customers in South Florida. While at AT&T and BellSouth, Robert held several field and staff engineering and network operational management positions including Director –Construction and Engineering in North Florida for Uverse Project Lightspeed Implementation and he was the Director of Engineering in New Orleans for the restoration of service in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Earlier in his career, Robert was responsible for the development of New Technology Deployment in Southern Bell and BellSouth Services, including design of Digital Line Carrier and various designs with fiber optic systems. Robert has directed Work Management and Test Centers, Outside Plant Construction, Repair, Special Services Installation and Maintenance, and served as Manager – Director of the Network Operations Staff in South Florida, improving efficiency through integrated automatic dispatch systems. Robert has also been involved in managing the building of enterprise networks, cable and wireless networks both in the U.S. and in the international market of core businesses in the telecommunications industry. He worked in various international projects building wireless sites and networks for some of the premier telecommunications’ service providers throughout North and South America. Robert graduated from University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1979) and has a Master of Business Administration from Nova University (1991). Robert was a recipient of an Honor Scholarship form the University of Miami due to academic performance in High School and was determined to finish his undergraduate in record time 3 years (for a 4.5 year curriculum in Civil Engineering). Robert has been involved in community projects throughout his career and is involved with Junior Achievement, where he started volunteering as an instructor, then became a director and now is the Chairman of the Board for Junior Achievement of Greater Miami. He is also the President of HACEMOS –SFL Chapter, a non-profit Hispanic Employee Resource Group made up of volunteers within AT&T that engages in Job Mentoring with local High Schools, fund raising for student scholarships and participates in local community projects as well.Mr. Suarez is a certified registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida since 1989.He is also a member of American Society of Civil Engineers and has kept up with his license requirements to practice Engineering.
