Mariana MartinezMariana Martinez provides support to the vice president of programs as well as the Executive Office, coordinating projects that cut across foundation programs.

Before joining Kresge, Mariana worked at the International Visitors Council of Detroit as program director, coordinating professional and cultural exchanges for current and emerging global leaders under the auspices of the United States Department of State. She also worked at the International Institute of Metro Detroit supporting the executive director in all aspects of operations and community outreach projects.

Mariana moved to Detroit from Paris, where she co-managed two properties as deputy director for IGESA, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving France’s Ministry of Defense. Previously, she pursued a career in management working for major hotel chains such as Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt.

A native of Mexico City, Mariana is passionate about international relations and making Detroit a diverse global city. She serves as a board member at the International Visitors Council of Detroit.

Mariana holds a master’s degree in public administration/non-profit management from Oakland University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Connecticut State University.
