Cesar MargaritoCesar was born in a small rural town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. His family immigrated to the U.S. when he was 10 years to the Salinas Valley. His passion has been working to increase retention and graduation rates for first-generation and low-income students, having been one himself. His professional experience has been in non-profits and educational institutions, most of it working with underrepresented populations. He has worked with federal programs such as GEAR UP and TRIO programs (Educational Talent Search and Student Support Services) as well as served on local and regional professional associations. He started his college journey at a Community College, and went on to earn a B.A. in History with a minor in Psychology and an M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is currently working on an Ed.D. in Organizational Change and Leadership at the University of Southern California.
