Pat MendezStrategy and Capture Manager, Public Sector Business Development, A Xerox Company
Pat Mendez is the Strategy and Capture Manager for Public Sector Global Business Development at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). In his role, Pat leads the development of PARC’s research proposals to state and federal government agencies. He works closely with principal investigators and management evaluating new government R&D priorities, analyzing synergies with PARC’s core competencies, and generating compelling research proposals that advance PARC’s technology commercialization goals.
Prior to joining PARC, Pat was the Director of Capture and Proposal Management at a Washington, D.C. based small business, focused on Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs. There he worked closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and qualify federal customer requirements, develop commercial and academic partnership ecosystems, as well as write and manage government grants and proposals. His previous experience also includes public sector sales, business development, proposal management, and capture management leadership roles with both for-profit and non-profit organizations.
Pat received a master’s degree from the University of Scranton and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology, with a research focus in human factors and engineering. He served four years as an Infantry Paratrooper in the U.S. Army, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
