President, Latin America at Baker Hughes Incorporated
Julio Lera is President for Latin America Region for Baker Hughes, where he leads and is responsible for all the business in the four Geomarkets of the Region; Andean & Venezuela Geomarket, Brazil Geomarket, Mexico & CA Geomarket and Southern Cone Geomarket. Prior to his current role, Julio served as Vice President and Managing Director for the Andean & Venezuela Geomarket for Baker Hughes, where he was responsible for all of the businesses in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. In this role, Lera was extensively involved in positioning Baker Hughes in High Technology applications and improving margins.
Lera joined Baker Hughes in 1983, and has being in different top management roles including Managing Director and Vice President for Southern Cone Geomarket, Vice President for Centrilift, and many other management roles for this company in Argentina, United States, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.
Julio earned an Advance Management degree at University of Tulsa, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Petroleum Engineer from Buenos Aires University. He has participated in management courses, as Thunderbird leadership course and Financial Acumen for Baker Hughes Senior Managers at Texas A&M.
